Management should remain local or regional. The general practitioner, in conjunction with an orthopedic surgeon, can provide follow-up care. If you have any questions, you can consult the Scientific Advisory Board. The latter can help establish the diagnosis in cases of uncertainty, or provide advice or therapeutic guidance.

A precise assessment of all chondromal lesions and implants is essential, to enable the patient and physician to be alert to any changes.

Patients should be encouraged to consult their doctor if they experience symptoms such as unusual pain without shock, or an increase in chondromal volume.

Scintigraphy and MRI may then be useful for monitoring the cellular activity of a chondroma.

Regular gynaecological surveillance is recommended for related pathologies such as ovarian tumours, and for abdominal pain.
